This post came to be because I was talking to my best friend about wanting to create a framed gallery wall above the sofa in my living room. I was trying to get it done all in one weekend and it was starting to really stress me out.
She recommended slowly curating the perfect artwork/pieces over time so that it is a collection of what I really want to showcase. I loved this advice because I want the pieces on the wall to be meaningful and it really isn’t something that I need to be finished quickly.
My birthday was shortly after our conversation and she made me this beautiful watercolor shell painting in the picture above (it’s upside down in the picture) and framed it for me! She thought it could be the start to my wall which it definitely is!
I realized how cute this gift idea was and already used it for one of my other friends birthdays who is obsessed with dragonflies. I painted a cute one and found a matching frame. It came together really nicely and meant a lot to my friend! I just think this is such a great way to give something to a loved one that is truly from the heart and meaningful!
There are so many tutorials online too which makes it even easier to make pieces that look really good even if you aren’t an artist (and I promise you I am not). I definitely recommend this gift idea if you’re looking for something creative!
