My college roommates and I have made this recipe so many times this semester and it’s always so good. I can’t wait to make it for my family over break! (they are going to be so surprised that I can make something other than kraft mac and cheese haha)
If you’re looking for a fast, budget-friendly, and delicious recipe to make with friends or family, this pasta recipe was made for you!
I hope that you enjoy it as much and my friends and I do and make sure to let me know in the comments if you try it. It really is delish!
- Cavatappi or Cellentani Pasta
- Zucchini
- Mozzarella
- Sausage: half sweet & half spicy but if they don’t have that package get all spicy
- Salt
- Vegetable or olive oil
- Tomato: not needed but definitely doesn’t hurt
- Basil: if you like basil this takes it to a whole other level
Cooking Supplies:
- Pot
- Pan
- Oven mitts
- Pasta strainer
- Cutting board
- Knife
- Wooden spoon
Directions:
- Boil water in a pot and add salt to boiled water.
- Add pasta to boiled water and set a timer according to box directions (around 10 minutes).
- While pasta is cooking pull sausage out of the casing and break it into small pieces in a pan with a little oil.
- Cook sausage until fully cooked (approximately same time as pasta).
- Add thinly cut zucchini and sliced tomatoes to the sausage pan and cover until the zucchini is soft.
- Strain pasta and add it to the pan with zucchini and sausage.
- Add small pieces of mozzarella cheese and cook until it’s all melted. (in my opinion the more cheese the better)
- Give the pasta a final stir, add some salt and it’s ready to eat!!
