Monday Moment 3/2

March 2, 2026

Hi! I’m so happy that you’re here. Welcome to my second installment of Monday Moment- a small, calm weekly reset to start our week with intention and grow positivity step by step.

Why I Started Monday Moment:

I started Monday Moment because I wanted a gentle way to begin each week with intention instead of overwhelm. Life moves fast, and it’s easy to jump straight into stress, pressure, and everything on our to-do lists without ever pausing to reset.

Monday Moment is meant to be that pause, a small, calm space each week to slow down, reflect, and intentionally choose positivity. Not in a forced or unrealistic way, but in small, steady steps that help us notice the good, shift our mindset, and grow over time.

It’s a reminder that meaningful change doesn’t come from huge, dramatic moments. Instead, it comes from consistent, simple ones.

Positive Quote:

“It’s not the big moves that change everything— it’s the smallest ones in your everyday life that do.” — Mel Robbins

I really appreciate the meaning behind these words. If you’re like me, you’ve probably struggled with feeling like you’re never doing enough. Let’s be honest, we all have a lot to juggle. Work, extracurriculars, relationships, friendships, finances, responsibilities… and somehow we’re also supposed to find ways to enjoy life even when it feels overwhelming.

I often catch myself wanting to reach my goals instantly. And when progress feels slow, I fall into an all-or-nothing mindset thinking, If this is going to take too long, why even try?

But the truth is, I know I can reach my goals… and you can too. It just takes time and that’s not a bad thing.

Over the past year, I’ve lost 30 pounds, and I’m really proud of that. But it didn’t happen overnight. It took consistent effort and showing up for myself day after day. I didn’t rely on motivation because honestly, most days I didn’t have it. After a long day of work, I didn’t want to leave my cozy apartment for a workout. Especially during the winter. I didn’t always want to stick to my meal plan.

Instead, I relied on the habits I built. I showed up because it became part of my routine, not because I felt inspired every day. That’s the power of small, manageable changes done consistently over time. They don’t feel overwhelming, but they create real, lasting transformation.

So today, let’s take a moment to think about our goals. What small, consistent actions can we take that move us forward, without burning ourselves out? Because big change doesn’t come from one huge leap. It comes from the small steps we choose to take every single day.

Breath & Mindfulness Practice:

This week, our Monday Moment is focusing on box breathing, a simple breathing technique that helps reduce stress and improve focus. It involves inhaling, holding, exhaling, and holding again for equal counts. I like to use 3 seconds for each step, but feel free to adjust the timing to whatever feels most comfortable for your body.  Directions:

  1. Sit or lie in a comfortable position
  2. Inhale slowly through your nose for 3 seconds
  3. Hold your breath for 3 seconds
  4. Exhale slowly through your mouth for 3 seconds
  5. Hold again for 3 seconds
  6. Repeat for 4–5 rounds, focusing on keeping your breath slow, steady, and smooth. Try practicing this at least once a day, or anytime you need a moment to reset and refocus.

Daily Affirmation:

This week’s affirmation is: “I am strong and smart.”

Try looking at yourself in the mirror and saying this at least once each day. It’s completely okay if it feels a little silly at first. Honestly, I still feel that way too. But affirmations are powerful. They help guide your focus, shift negative thinking, and build confidence over time. Like anything else, it takes practice. The more you say it, the more you’ll start to believe it.

Below there is a free pdf worksheet that we can use to practice positivity with intention. Each week, we will actively notice the good, practice gratitude, and reflect on our progress. Alongside these reflections, the habit tracker helps us stay consistent with our daily breathing/mindfulness and affirmation practices.
