How To Easily Make This Photo Collage!?
The smaller picture on the bottom right was my inspiration for this project!! I found that picture off Pinterest. I think my wall came out pretty similar! 🙂 Photo credits: society19
Step 1: Order photos and Fun-Tak!
You will need a total of 66 vertical and 12 Horizontal pictures to make this collage. You may also want to find some positive quotes or more aesthetic pictures off of Pinterest to mix with your personal pictures. This is what I did and it worked really well.
I recommend buying your photos (all 4×6 inches) from yorkphoto.com because their prints are the cheapest and they are the best quality! They have a deal where you can get 100 prints free and just pay to ship them. I got all of these & more pics for under $6!
If their website isn’t working, you can also order cheap prints from Shutterfly. I’ve used them too, and they usually always have a deal on prints!
Order from them sooner rather than later because their prints can take a while to come. I had to wait about 10 days before my prints came but they were really cheap.
Make sure that you use fun-tak to hang up the photos!
Fun-Tak sticks so much better than tape and won’t damage walls. If your planning to hang any pictures up on your walls definitely bring Fun-Tak, especially to college. It’s also super inexpensive!
(If I didn’t use this fun-tak in my dorm freshman year, there’s no way all of my pictures would have stayed up the whole year.)
I recommend buying two packs to make the collage above. Mine used up an entire pack and could have benefited from a little more.
Step 2: Lay the pictures out on your floor or bed in the way that you want them.
The next step is to organize your photos in the way you want them. I recommend organizing them on your floor or somewhere with a lot of room.
Make sure to pay special attention to where the horizontal pictures go in this collage. They are outlined in yellow in the picture below! 🙂 If you put them in random spots, it will be very hard for all of the pictures to line up evenly.
Once you get a layout that you’re happy with, take a picture of it so that if it gets mixed up you can always look back at the picture.
Step 3: Add fun-tak to your pictures and start adding them to the wall.
Warm the fun-tak up in your fingers first to make sure it’s sticky. I tried to put a little bit of it in all 4 corners of my pictures. However, I started to run out of fun-tak, so I could only put it in 2 corners of some of my pictures.
If you have more than one pack of fun-tak, all of your pictures should look something like this.
When adding the pictures to your wall, it’s easiest to create a border first and then fill in the rest of the photos by row. You’ll want to leave about a quarter of an inch in between the photos.
I recommend starting with the first row of pictures at the bottom of the collage. It helps to use a strip of painters tape and a ruler to ensure the pictures are straight and centered.
Next, work on the vertical column of pictures all the way to the left. And then, the last vertical column on the right.
After that, finish the top row of pictures and your boarder will be complete.
Now all you have to do is fill in your boarder of pictures, row by row and your collage will be finished!!
